Documenting a Day
The word processor application is quite simple to use.
Anyone with basic knowledge can compose a letter, memo or do a school
assignment like this one. All functions are easily found in the navigation
panel. Like font and font size. Spreadsheets like Excel are used for data. You
can create charts and use a formula to do equations like add and subtract.
Presentation apps like power point are used to illustrate projects with slides.
You integrate text and photos on the slides.
For basic functions it is simple to use and
widely available. Some disadvantages are cost. Users must pay for the software
and for more advanced functions it can be challenging to find specific tools.
Advantages for excel are that it is widely supported and is the industry
standard for spreadsheet software and that it can perform a complex variety of
math calculations. Disadvantages are that the excel application can be hard to
use beyond basic features and it is prone to human error. One mistake can mess
up a calculation. An advantage of PowerPoint is the visual appeal. The colors
and images can make a presentation more engaging. A disadvantage to PowerPoint
is that too much information can overwhelm the audience and make the
presentation difficult to follow. The software that was
most appropriate for documenting the information about my day was Excel. The
reason being is the tasks and times were easily added. Anyone could look at it
and understand my day. With word and PowerPoint, it would be more time
consuming to read a statement or look at slides.
Excel would be quite useful in a business where
there are large amounts of data that need to be calculated, word is useful for
writing reports and memos, while PowerPoint is best suited for school projects
or work presentations
